So, I've been tagged to by Jennifer on her blog to answer some questions. And of course, I'm always looking for the easy blogger's way out so I have to tip my cap to her for that one. Besides, we know I love filling out questionnaires about myself.
Here are the rules (yes, rules!)
A) People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question. I admit I tweaked a couple of questions. If you want to see the originals go check out Jen's blog. B) Tag 8 people to do this quiz (I'm going to cheat on this part, I don't think I read the blogs of 8 different people who would also be reading mine in return...)
1.How many songs are in your iTunes?
7489. I'm pretty sure some of them I have never listened to, or possibly even heard of since this is the shared compilation of my music and Todd's.
2. What music would you want played at your funeral?
For some reason when I thought of this question the song "Forever Young" (the Stoney LaRue version) is what jumped into my head. Probably not the most fitting for a funeral, but it is a great song and his rendition is amazing.
3.What magazines do you have subscriptions to?
I don't have any subscriptions at the moment, at least I don't have any that I personally have subscribed to. That said, copies of Parenting and Babytalk keep showing up in our mailbox. Since I know that I never subscribed to them I'm assuming I must have ended up on their list through some other means. Damn you Big Brother!
4. What is your favorite scent?
It's really difficult to limit it to one thing. I love the smell of freshly cut grass. I love the smell of the earth after a rain. I love the smell of fall. I love puppy breath. I love the smell of babies (no, not poop, that sweet baby scent that they give off). I love the smell of stargazer lillies. I really could go on here.
5. If money were no object, where would you live?
It's perhaps laughable for some, but I would live in Oklahoma. Most likely somewhere just outside of Tulsa, on a gajillion acres with a good mixture of both pasture land (for my horses, of course) and trees (to shade my gargantuan house on the hill). Interestingly, my husband agrees with that verdict. But since that's the obvious answer, for me at least, the real question would be where would my SECOND home be? And that's a toughy. I think I would have a hard time pinning down a second home location because if you have a home you sort of feel some obligation to spend time there, and well, frankly if I had that much money I would probably want to spend my time away from home traveling and seeing some more of the world.
6. What is your theme song?
This changes on a regular basis. I think the last song I purchased for ME on iTunes was "Shake It" by Metro Station and I still looove this song, however, I'm really digging "Beautiful Life" by Fisher right now. The last music purchase I made, though, was a ton of little kid songs that I can play for Paige and the other kiddos when they come over for playgroup. This totally reminds me I need to go buy that Fisher song, though, so great question!
7. Do you trust easily?
Yes. It's probably come back to bite me in the rear end several times, but I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt until they give me a reason not to. I think people deserve that respect. Screw me over once, though, and you're going to have a damn hard time earning that trust back.
8. Do you generally think before you act, or act before you think?
I'm incredibly impulsive. Most of my friends know the sports car I used to have was purchased on a complete whim. I wandered onto a car lot and walked off having placed a deposit on the car without ever having driven it since they had none in stock. Fortunately, Todd is a planner (and frugal) so we balance each other out nicely.
9.Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Unhappy is really the wrong word here, but I'm unsure what the right word is. Anyway, I'm in the middle of a travel spurt where I'm out of town for multiple weeks in a row, but it follows a stretch of time where I was home without any work travel - so technically it evens out where I truly haven't been traveling a crazy amount. It just seems like it when you look at my current month. It's tough from a parent perspective, though. One week I come home and Paige clings to me and cries if I even try to put her down. The next time around she's like "do I know you strange woman?". Neither is a desirable response, but I'm not sure there's a happy medium since we're talking about a baby. I want her to miss me like I miss her, but it's heart-breaking to deal with tears and separation anxiety (and makes me want to cry too!).
10. Do you have a good body-image?
Not really. I don't think it's ever been good, even when I was strutting around in crop tops showing off my six pack (my pathetic attempt at gaining good body image by garnering approval from others). It's really gone downhill in the past few years since I've let myself get so overweight and out of shape. I don't know that I will ever feel that great about the way I look, which is sad, but I do hope that working toward my goal of being healthier and being in shape will help.
11. Is being tagged fun?
I don't know if it is fun per se, but it gives me an opportunity to reflect on myself.
12. How do you spend your social networking (Facebook, etc.) time?
Playing games and looking at my friends' updates and pictures.
13. What have you been seriously addicted to lately?
The Twilight series. I read them all within a pretty short span of time. Now I can't wait for the movie to come out although I suspect I will be disappointed since I can already see some departures from the storyline in the trailers I've seen.
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
I think Jen is frigging brilliant - she's a scary kind of smart. She's also imposing and dominant in a way that few women are. We butt heads from time to time, but much like my husband, we make a great compliment to each other.
15. What’s the last song that got stuck in your head?
Ugh, I hate how songs get stuck in my head because they are often songs that I don't even like. I think it's been a while since something has been truly stuck in my head. The last thing that comes to mind is "With You" by Chris Brown. Pam can attest to that after hearing me sing bits and pieces of it in our warehouse while we were packing boxes. "I need ya, boo. I gotta see ya, boo..."
16.What’s your favorite item of clothing?
I couldn't live without my jeans. I like to play dress up, but I loooove my jeans.
17. Do you think Rice Krispies are yummy?
Yep, especially with sliced bananas and a ton of sugar, I mean Splenda dumped on top.
18. What would you do if you see saw $100 lying on the ground?
Attempt to figure out where it came from. I'm a little on the anal side when it comes to honesty.
19. What items could you not go without during the day?
Sleep. Does that count as an item? I don't have any "thing" that I really have to have to get me through the day, but if I don't get enough sleep...watch out!
20. What should you be doing right now?
Heh. Work I'm sure. I certainly have plenty of things to be working on right now.
Okay... so now its time to tag someone. I'm going to tag Leah. I don't know how often she reads here, but I know she's an occasional visitor. I'm not going to double-tag any of the folks Jennifer hit up...so that pretty much leaves me scratching my head with a big question mark. So, if you are out there, you read this and want to play along, just leave me a link in the comments so I can come check out your answers.
